The first US patents for chrome plating were issued to C.G. Fink in 1926. In Germany, E. Liebreich was issued a patent in 1924. These patents were for decoration over copper and nickel plating. Research and steady improvement provided the technique of plating directly onto base metal without the use of undercoats and ultimately led to the Nova-Chrome method. One of our chrome plated parts even went to the moon! Nova-Chrome is FAA approved.
